Stop in Denver, got left behind

Stuck in Denver

Reported by Sandra Douglas

1/11/23 Flight 71 from Cancun to Las Vegas had a stop but no change of planes in Denver. We were delayed on the tarmac and had to clear customs. Frontier's process after clearing customs was to go to the main ticket counter. We told the representative we just needed to drop our bags from the Cancun flight. She made us stand in the regular line...with no priority for the fact that our flight was scheduled to depart in 30 min. We waited in line, missed our flight and the next available flight was FOUR DAYS Later!!! No hotel credit, just an offer to return the airfare for that leg that we missed. We booked last-minute tickets to get home the next morning for $255/pp....12 people were in our party. We had two diabetics, three celiacs and two other people with medical appointments on Friday. The part that really irks me is it was our plane, we had been checked in, the only reason we missed our flight is their incompetence!! One of the adults in our party said that they overbooked the flight (not sure how he knows that) and it left more than 80% full. Total conspiracy theory here, but when you can't get on a flight because it is over booked, the airline is required up compensate the traveler....but if they make us miss our flight those people have a seat and they are not required to compensate us.
